NEW DELHI: Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Friday urged the opposition parties, which have decided to boycott the inauguration of the new Parliament building, to reconsider their decision and be part of the historic ceremony, reports Akhilesh Singh.
Singh said that it was a historic occasion and parties should rise above political lines and also suggested that they should not drag the President into the controversy.
He further said that it is a historical event and there will be many more opportunities further for doing politics on various issues. “The opposition parties should understand the difference between a constitutional session and a social gathering,” said the defence minister.
